Embracing Self-Compassion: A Journey to Gentle Authenticity
Every day, I’m learning the art of self-compassion, especially after a history of being relentlessly tough on myself. Don’t wait for life to push you into being gentle and gracious with yourself; make it a deliberate and consistent practice.
For some of us, it might be one of the most challenging things we ever undertake, but I implore you, be kind to yourself. You might never have had the chance before, and unfortunately, no one may arrive to grant it to you. Therefore, it’s up to you.
Do it for yourself now, do it for all the versions of you that never got to experience this. Be gentle, offer yourself grace, and allow yourself the freedom to just be—your raw, authentic self. It’s perfectly fine; nothing has to make sense.
Give yourself permission to feel, to breathe, to exist. And in case no one has reminded you recently, you’re doing exceptionally well. You’ve come this far, and that’s proof enough. Darling, you’ll be more than alright.
With love,
Pri.
