Why did I see that?<\/p>\n
Why didn\u2019t I stop it?<\/p>\n
Why did it feel normal in the moment?<\/p>\n
And then the one that lands the hardest:<\/p>\n
What if that says something about me?<\/p>\n
We don\u2019t talk about this part.<\/p>\n
The part where your own mind shows you something you didn\u2019t choose \u2014<\/p>\n
and now you\u2019re left trying to make sense of it.<\/p>\n
The part where you feel exposed\u2026 not to people, but to yourself.<\/p>\n
Because it\u2019s easier to laugh off a strange dream<\/p>\n
than to sit with one that makes you question your character.<\/p>\n
But here\u2019s what we rarely allow ourselves to consider:<\/p>\n
Dreams don\u2019t ask for your permission.<\/p>\n
They don\u2019t operate with your full awareness, your values, or your control.<\/p>\n
They don\u2019t check in with who you are before they unfold.<\/p>\n
Sometimes\u2026 they just happen.<\/p>\n
Not as a reflection of who you are \u2014<\/p>\n
but as a reflection of a mind that is processing, sorting, and trying to make sense of things beneath the surface.<\/p>\n
And sometimes, what shows up isn\u2019t even about the thing itself.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s about the feeling underneath it.<\/p>\n
The lack of control.<\/p>\n
The vulnerability.<\/p>\n
The unfamiliar space of being in something you didn\u2019t choose \u2014<\/p>\n
and not knowing how to respond to it.<\/p>\n
So when you wake up unsettled\u2026<\/p>\n
when there\u2019s a quiet discomfort you can\u2019t quite explain\u2026<\/p>\n
That doesn\u2019t mean something is wrong with you.<\/p>\n
It means something in you is still intact.<\/p>\n
Your awareness.<\/p>\n
Your ability to pause.<\/p>\n
Your instinct to question.<\/p>\n
The part of you that says, \u201cThat didn\u2019t feel right.\u201d<\/p>\n
Maybe the dream isn\u2019t revealing who you are.<\/p>\n
Maybe your reaction is.<\/p>\n
And maybe the question isn\u2019t:<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat does this say about me?\u201d<\/p>\n
Maybe it\u2019s:<\/p>\n
\u201cWhy did this stay with me?\u201d<\/p>\n
Because sometimes, it\u2019s not about what you saw.<\/p>\n
